To achieve these goals we need to…

  • Build a centrally-provided tool set that meets the needs of the majority of the Institute’s stakeholders, regardless of capabilities.
  • Outline and execute on a migration plan to centralize hosting, content management systems, and design approach across individual Institute sites.

Workstreams

Efforts are underway across multiple areas to enhance Georgia Tech’s digital presence.

Web Content and Governance

Building on the Institute Online Resource policy, this workstream focuses on:

  • Assessing and addressing gaps in the full site inventory.
  • Executing a comprehensive cleanup effort, starting with non-centrally hosted websites.
  • Providing guidance and direction for content optimization to individual site owners.
  • Evolving policies to safeguard and align the Institute’s web presence for the long term.

Technical Foundation

This workstream is dedicated to building a robust technical foundation, including:

  • Conducting a full discovery and analysis of the current technical environment supporting the web.
  • Defining the direction for hosting platforms and CMS tools suitable for both technical and non-technical site managers.
  • Implementing updates to hosting platforms and CMS, supported by an Institute-wide migration strategy.

User Experience

This effort focuses on improving the end-user experience:

  • End user experience assessment and report delivery.
  • Improved, comprehensive digital design direction.
  • Built out component library based on digital design.
  • Incorporate component library elements into final CMS.

These efforts will support each workstream throughout the project:

  • Change management and org readiness
  • Governance
  • Migration strategy, guidance, and execution
